Strength Elements, with high structural performance
They are continuous composite rods obtained by pultrusion technology, meeting the tough requirements for this application:
- high tensile strength
- high modulus of elasticity
- dieletric property
Allowing excellente performance during cabling process and field installation.
Protection Elements, for prevention against rodent's attacks
Small diameter rods can also be used as protective elements against rodent's attacks, which could severely damage the cables. These are fiberglass high content profiles, impregnated with a lower cost resin, not aiming structural performance but to assure a reliable cable protection during its service life.
These economical special rods are normally supplied in the same manner as the strngth members, using also this same wooden spools.
Special Coated Fibers
Beside FRP profiles, Stratus also produces thermoplastic coated fiberglass continuos fibers, which are normally addopted as reinforcement materials in the optic cables. This is an efficient and lower cost alternative to the aramid fibers, traditionally used in this application.
This material is normally supplied in smaller spools, just like in textile industry fibers packages.
